The only silver cup Cathy Ace has ever won in her life was for talking!
People say she’s an entertaining speaker. Over the years she’s chatted engagingly, made complex Powerpoint presentations, and read her work or hosted and been MC for various events. She’s done this at venues as diverse as a plant nursery in Canada, a dazzling Livery Hall in the City of London, and a grade 12 schoolroom. Having run her own post-graduate marketing communications college in the UK for a decade, and having traveled the world as a management trainer, she’s now able to take all that experience and be an “edu-taining” speaker who is funny, insightful, knows her stuff and can speak about topics ranging from the broad base of The History of Mystery, to more intimate and personal topics such as how she plans, plots and writes her bestselling mysteries.

Cathy won the Bony Blithe Award for Best Canadian Light Mystery of the year in 2015 for The Corpse with the Platinum Hair (Cait Morgan Mystery #4).

200 word bio for Cathy Ace – background and work:

Cathy Ace was born and raised in Swansea, South Wales, worked for decades in marketing communications, and migrated to Canada in 2000. Having traveled the world for work and pleasure for many years, Cathy put her knowledge of the cultures, history, art and food she encountered to good use in The Cait Morgan Mysteries – a series of traditional closed-circle murder mysteries featuring globetrotting professor of criminal psychology (and foodie) sleuth, Cait Morgan. Ace’s other series is set in her native Wales: The WISE Enquiries Agency Mysteries feature four female professional investigators, one of whom is Welsh, one Irish, one Scottish and one English. They tackle quirky British cases from their base at a Welsh stately home – the ancient seat of the Twyst family, the Dukes of Chellingworth, set in the rolling countryside of the Wye Valley in Powys, near the picturesque village of Anwen-by-Wye. Cathy now lives in Beautiful British Columbia, where her ever-supportive husband, and two chocolate Labradors, make sure she’s able to work full-time as an author, and enjoy her other passion – gardening. Bestselling author Ace is the 2015 winner of the Bony Blithe Award for Best Canadian Light Mystery (for The Corpse with the Platinum Hair).

THE WISE ENQUIRIES AGENCY MYSTERIES: working at a Welsh stately home and living in the surrounding countryside and village, four softly-boiled female private investigators tackle quintessentially British cases while living lives they could never have imagined. One is Welsh (happily married, in her thirties), one Irish (the smart, single and attractive daughter of an impoverished viscount, in her twenties…with a penchant for a man with a dark past), one Scottish (a retired army nurse with no time for shilly-shallying) and one English (born in the East End of London to St. Lucian parents, she’s sweating her way through her fifties). They are “aided” in their endeavors by dowager duchess Althea Twyst, who might be almost eighty, but believes her love of all things Monty Python keeps her young. Available as hardcover, trade paperback, and Kindle.
